Without wishing to give too much away now, I think it’s fair to say that this is not your average software update. A couple of months down the line, it’s ready to be unleashed on the world, and if anything, I’m even more impressed. Just occasionally, however, a product comes along that is genuinely revolutionary, and when Celemony first showed me a beta of Melodyne 4, it was immediately obvious that they had come up with something a bit special. Many of the non–disclosure agreements we sign are about things so dull that no–one would have bothered to disclose them anyway. Now, revolutionary features in version 4 promise to make tempo and timbre equally fluid.Ĭan you keep a secret? In the world of music technology, it’s usually not all that difficult. I know this is possible because AutoTune did this for a while with some of their licenses.Īnyways, hopefully this fix will be made soon.Musical pitch has always been putty in the hands of Melodyne. Why don't companies give licenses that open up their older versions of their product? I would be much more confident upgrading to new versions if I knew I could simply use an older version if the newer version didn't work for me. They did give me a temporary license for Melodyne 2 Editor, but I really hope they will fix this issue soon.īetter yet. Melodyne is aware of this issue (as of a couple weeks ago when I sent them the email) and I am hoping they fix this soon. This turned into an absolute mess for me in some projects using multiple versions even with the workaround listed above. GrtI have this same problem and created a video to demonstrate it: I upgraded to Melodyne 4 using it in protools 10 as a plugin, now when i transfer a note 440 hz into melodyne it goes up 27 cents even without doing anything, anyone with the same problem ? Hope it helpsI wish Celemony will send someone to solve the main issue here, too, mentioned in more than 50 % of the comments in this thread - namely the lack of improvement of the quality of the vocal detection and pitch correcting. once this is done, all transferred parts are playing with the correct tuning now repeat this procedure and set the value to zero now you can see that the Compare button is highlighted in blue drag the first automation point to a value of 1. in the next step select this parameter in the automation lane on the track in Pro Tools, where Melodyne is inserted Select "Pitch" from the list and then click on the "Add" button. define a realtime controller in the Melodyne plugin interface by clicking on the "Auto" button. To solve this issue, you have to send a value of "0" to Melodyne. This is the reason, why the blobs in your recording show the proper cent value, whereas the playback is out of tune. It seems that in your project a value for this pitch parameter is set. In Melodyne 4 these controllers are not available in the interface, but the parameters are still available, if you use the automation in your DAW or a MIDI controller routed to them. One of them was controlling the entire pitch of a Melodyne instance. Melodyne singletrack had three realtime controllers. The support team at melodyne send me this to solve the problem.
